Vladimir Arshinov
Chief Information Officer
Vladimir is working for the Slovenian Steel Group, since 3.5 years as Chief Information Officer, being responsible for the digital transformation within the company. Graduating from the state university of steel and alloys and growing up in a steel and mining area, he spent his entire life working in the metals industry. He came to know different aspects of the metals world, working for steel producers as well as for a machine builder, collecting practical and international experience.
Shortly we will share our interview with Vladimir, where he talks about his career paths and how he started the digital transformation at SIJ.
Dr. Falk-Florian Henrich
Chief Executive Officer
Falk-Florian is the founder and CEO of the Smart Steel Technologies company. He graduated as theoretical mathematician and computer scientist at the technical university of Berlin where he also continued his post graduate studies. Florian had his first contact to the steel industry with the age of 7, when he took his first programming class organized by a steel producer in his hometown in Germany. He collected a wide range of experience as machine learning expert and developer in different fields before he founded his first software company 2011 for high-tech payed content technology for publishers and became market leader in Europe. Selling this company allowed him to come back to his passion of the steel industries, where he sees big potential for machine learning due to the complexity of processes as well as the availability of data.
Jeremy Jones
Managing Partner
Jeremy is the Managing Partner of CIX company who includes continuous improvement in the steel industry. He has a wide experience gained from his brightful career, starting with Nupro Corporation as the director of operations, passing through serving as the vice president of many companies such as Worely Parson Gas cleaning, and Transfield Services Worley Parsons Ltd JV.
He graduated from Queen's University where he completed his Master’s degree in chemical engineering. Due to his great contributions to the steel industry, he is honored many prestigious awards such as John Bell Award, AIST Distinguished Fellow, and International Iron Metallic Association Honorary Fellow.
Barry Schneider
Senior Vice President
Barry is the Senior Vice President of Steel Dynamics, Inc. Flat Roll Group since 2016. He achieved many successful projects during serving SDI incorporation starting from Mechanical Engineer of the Melting and Casting at 1995, passing through many important roles such as Vice President of Bar Products Division in Pittsboro, Vice President and General Manager of P&L Division.
Barry graduated in Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology where he completed his bachelor degree in mechanical engineering then his master degree in engineering management.
How does this work?
Our conference features presentations from steel producers only, high ranking executives talking about their experience in the covered fields. Due to one sponsored presentation from a software supplier in cooperation with a producer, we can offer it free of charge for the participants. To keep it interactive, we split the conference in two parts: A small, specially selected group of participants will join a live videoconference with the speaker and discuss the presented topic. This will be recorded in advanced and made available at the conference day, where again the speakers are available for Q&A via chat function to all participants.
